You are invited to apply for the 1620 Scholarship ($2500) if you meet the qualifications below.
Qualifications:
You are ...
• A U.S. citizen and a resident of the state of New Mexico. Members of native pueblos or New Mexico tribes are included. Applicant does not need to be a Mayflower descendant.
or are ...
• A U.S. citizen who is related to a member of the New Mexico Society of Mayflower Descendants. Applicant residency is not required. Proof of Mayflower ancestry is not required.
• You plan to attend an accredited post-secondary vocational school, community college, college, or university all of which award degrees. If you drop out prior to using all your scholarship money, the balance will revert to the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of New Mexico.
Entry Criteria:
• An essay of 250-500 words.
• Two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or other non-family members reflecting your aspirations, knowledge, abilities, and character.
• An autobiographical summary of achievements, honors, extracurricular activities, work experience, community service and personal interests.
• School transcript indicating you are a good student with the potential for further academic success.
Use the "1620 Scholarship" drop down arrow to continue to the Application Form. Right-click on the far right side of page 1, then select Save As in the new window. Download and Print from your computer as usual. Repeat these steps to Print page 2.
